Not quite. Knee sleeves provide support and light compression to the knee, which can be helpful for both injury prevention and injury recovery, but they don’t increase gluteal activation. I don’t see why you couldn’t do both, though — wear knee sleeves and use a band for squats — although if you have an injury, it’s always best to check with a medical professional about exercise safety.
